2. Type of Chord:
- diatonic or chromatic,
- triadic or non-triadic,
- major, minor, diminished or augmented
- with or without added 7ths, 9ths, 11ths or 13ths
- with or without essential 3rds or 5ths.

3. Chord Presentation or Context:
- chord inversion,
- duration of a chord,
- position of a chord in the bar,

5. Special formations, such as
- repeating or alternating patterns
- patterns based on linear movements in one or more voices
